OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — The Ocean City police department is creating a new special enforcement unit to proactively investigate crimes and work with the community to identify problems.
Police Chief Ross Buzzuro announced Sunday that the new unit will begin operating this month and will be patrolling throughout Ocean City. The officers will be dressed in plain clothes like the department’s narcotics unit officers.
Buzzuro says the new special enforcement unit will act as a stepping stone between the patrol division and the criminal investigation division. He says the new unit will focus on growing crime trends in the city.
